Student Nurses Association
- The Student Nurses Association is comprised of Nursing Majors and those interested in the profession of Nursing. SNA works to provide opportunity for personal, intellectual, professional, and social growth of its members. Much of this is incorporated into health information and services that are provided to the campus and community. Each Nursing student is encouraged to cultivate leadership skills within the SNA.
- The active SNA member is an individual aware of the issues, responsibilities and needs of Nursing profession and the public it serves.
- SNA is a major source of enrollment of TNAI Life membership.
- SNA activities include Health Days, Cultural, Sports day, activities for Incoming Freshers, Farewell, etc.
Achievements and Events
11ᵗʰ International Yoga Day - 2025
The Student Nurses Association (SNA) of SRM College of Nursing, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, organized the 11ᵗʰ International Yoga Day celebration on 20ᵗʰ June 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall of SRM College of Nursing. The event was conducted at the institutional level under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being.
The programme began at 2:00 PM with the reverent rendering of Tamil Thai Vazhthu, Mrs. Ambiga K, Associate Professor, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of yoga as a holistic practice that nurtures both physical and mental well-being. This was followed by the presidential address by Dr. R. Vijayalakshmi, Vice Principal of SRM College of Nursing, who emphasized the relevance of integrating yoga into the daily routine of nursing students and professionals to manage stress and maintain emotional balance.
An inspiring yoga demonstration was presented by Ms. Abirami, M.Sc. Nursing 1ˢᵗ year student, who showcased a series of postures and breathing exercises to promote focus, balance, and flexibility. The highlight of the event was the expert session delivered by Ms. Dhanalakshmi K., BNYS, Assistant Professor at the Centre for Yoga, SRM IST. She delivered an insightful lecture on the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” explaining how yoga supports not only individual health but also environmental awareness and sustainability. Her session was followed by a practical yoga workshop, during which students actively participated in guided breathing and stretching exercises, experiencing firsthand the calming effects of yoga practice.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Tulasi, B.Sc. Nursing 1ˢᵗ year student, who acknowledged the support of the faculty, the resource person, and the organizing team. A total of 6 faculty members and 101 first-year B.Sc. Nursing students took part in the event. The programme was a resounding success and reinforced the vital message that yoga is a powerful tool for promoting good health, inner peace, and sustainable living, truly reflecting the vision of SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.
TNSNACON 2023
The event was hosted by SNA Unit of Karpaga Vinayaga College of Nursing which was held on 06.07.2023. 18 Students from SRM College of Nursing has participated in various competitions. Students showcased their talent in various competitions such as Essay, Poster, Dance competition, Extempore speech, Mono acting, on the spot painting, Hair do, Mehendi, Pencil sketching and Glazy Pot.

SNAI Zonal Competitions - 2025
The students of SRM College of Nursing participated in the Tamil Nadu XXXI State SNAI (Student Nurses Association of India) Biennial Conference – Zonal Competitions 2025 held on 18th July 2025 at Venkateswara Nursing College, Thalambur, Chennai. The event witnessed participation from around 20 Nursing institutions across the districts of Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur.
The theme of the conference was “Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow: The Journey of a Nursing Student”. The students actively engaged in various cultural and literary events organized as part of the zonal competitions.
In the literary event category, Ms. Jasleen Kaur, a second-year DGNM student, secured the 3rd place in the Extempore Speech competition. Additionally, in the cultural category, Ms. Bhuvana Sri, a third-year DGNM student, achieved the 3rd place in the Floor Decoration event.
The participation provided an opportunity for students to exhibit their skills, enhance peer interaction, and gain experience in intercollegiate events under the umbrella of SNAI.
